there is nothing quite like biting into something and finding yourself transported to a special time or place! i am glad to hear you still have her around– grandmas are one of life’s fine treasures.

oh yes, i suggest you go out and buy some marshmallow fluff and peanut butter for a fluffernutter sandwich ASAP! or, of course, make these cupcakes!
lol, yeah most men i know love peanut butter, so i should be i the clear!

these sound good! I had never heard of fluffernutter before reading this, but it sounds divine!

And don’t worry about finding a mate who doesn’t like peanut butter–my experience is most men love it!

Reading the first half of this entry (don’t worry, I read the last half too!) was startling, as I’ve had (and still have) the exact same problem with lazy eye as a very little girl, and never really heard a similar story before (though I know there are tons of people out there). Stupid magic eye things never worked, and I just can’t get excited about 3D movies, either. Oh well.

As for the recipe: I love Elinor Klivans too! Lovely photos

Dear Sharon-

Reading your entry today made my heart melt. There are a few special food items (namely Entenmann’s chocolate doughnuts, lemon drop candy and fluffernutter sandwiches) that will forever remind me of childhood summer visits to my grandmother’s house. She’s still alive and kickin’ (at the age of 84) and next time I find myself missing that spunky lady, I will make these cupcakes. Thanks!
