okay, so i don’t want to keep waiting to post just because i can’t load my pictures up… so i shall post, and then include the photos later…even though this technically breaks my cardinal rule: i won’t select recipes without seeing photos, so i can’t expect you to either.

so in the past couple weeks i have mostly done re-bakes of recent good due to the requests of my friends, most notably a repeat of the red velvet cupcakes for my friend matt’s birthday–this time though with white chocolate added to the cream cheese frosting. yum. they got rave reviews again, and like most of the other cupcakes i have made, at least 1-2 people told me that these were the best cupcakes they have every had. woohoo!

friday night i whipped up some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies to send along with erica and suvarna on their trip up to boston for a bridal shower and bachelorette party (i was supposed to join them, but was unable to). i thought i was going to see them in the morning, but around 6 i found out that suvarna was coming around 7, so i got up off the couch and threw them together as quickly as i could… no time to look up fun new recipes, i just modified the nestle tollhouse recipe by adding 2/3 cup peanut butter and a sprinkle extra flour when i was done mixing to firm it up a little without drying them out. thankfully, they were done and cooled when she got here!

for this week’s bake though, i am going to be a bit generic and make a good ol’ fashioned irish soda bread for saint patrick’s day! i have never actually made one before, at least not that i recall (maybe when i was a kid or in home ec?).  i should have that post up tomorrow… hopefully with pictures!!

and for those of you wondering about the weather here– march certainly is coming in like a lion! it has been pouring since last night and is not supposed to stop until some point during the day/evening on monday, but the WIND is the worst part. it sounds like my house is going to blow away!!!! oh, and here’s a fun little tidbit: last night despite me setting my thermostat to 70 it was sweltering in here and read 77, so i turned off the heat. and…forgot to turn it back on. needless to say it was freezing in here this morning!
